Dry Ice Blasting Technology
What Is Dry Ice?
- Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO₂)
- Unlike water ice, it does not melt into liquid
- It sublimates directly from solid to gas
- Extremely low temperature: −78.5°C (−109.3°F)
- Ideal for cooling and non-damaging cleaning applications

How Dry Ice Blasting Works?
Dry ice blasting cleans surfaces using three powerful effects working together:
Impact – Knocking the Dirt Loose
Dry ice pellets are blasted at high speed using compressed air.
When they hit the dirty surface, the impact energy breaks the bond between the dirt and the equipment.
👉 The surface itself is not damaged because dry ice is soft and non-abrasive.

Cold – Freezing the Contamination
Dry ice is extremely cold (–78.5°C).
On contact, this sudden cold freezes the dirt, making it brittle.
👉 The dirt shrinks and cracks, while the equipment remains unharmed.

Expansion – Lifting the Dirt Away
As soon as dry ice hits the surface, it instantly changes from solid to gas (this is called sublimation).
During this change, it expands nearly 800 times in volume.
👉 This rapid expansion lifts and pushes the loosened dirt off the surface.
